Based on these numbers it would seem that Tejada is outperforming Jose nearly across the board. The one thing Tejada can never touch Reyes on, is speed. Reyes is one of the fastest players in baseball and the numbers show in his stolen bases and triples. Jose has stolen 4 bags and hit 2 triples while Tejada has done neither. However Tejada has been much better at the bat. He is out hitting Reyes by 40 points and getting on base far more often. For a lead off hitter Reyes slash line is frankly embarrassing, he is not getting on base nearly as much as the Marlins need him to. Tejada has also come out the gate as a doubles machine, hitting twice as many as Reyes. I also took a quick look at wRC which is an overall stat used to give a number of runs attributed to a single player, here Tejada again outpaced Reyes. In pretty much every meaningful way Tejada has been more useful than Jose.
Let's also take a quick look at defense. Right now both Ruben and Reyes have a negative UZR but Ruben's is significantly better. Tejada is sporting a -.8 whereas Reyes has cost his team over a run at -1.4. Frankly both of these numbers are disappointing but Tejada still proves himself superior.
